All
production at the Montado is certified by the Portuguese Organic Certification
Association. Guests and visitors to the Montado dos Aviceiros, will
benefit from this and can participate in some of the many activities.
At present, there is a mature orchard (pears and apples) and some
honey is being produced. It is planned for the production to include
vegetables and herbs. |

In addition to
the plant system there are animals that complement the prodution and
use much of the waste and surplus material, making it all work sustainably
and in a synergistic way.
Compost
heaps and soil improvement methods are also important. Tree surgery
are also an important part of the project as there are many chestnut
and walnut trees in full production |
